Sidewalk Keeper
Hiding in the gloom
of an overwhelming world,
You sit and watch the sidewalk bloom
and the earth unfold
I smile at Your nothingness
and wonder where You went,
looking at Your homelessness
and help You pitch a tent
Its an odd thing, all of this,
I don't know Your soul,
yet I hide with You, in the grass
fighting through the cold
You speak about Your life
and how the world has been so cruel-
I dry Your broken eyes
and let You know You’re not a fool.
