My Shadow
Every day is another battle
One more fight I know I'll lose
Can't pull myself together
Don't know what I'm supposed to do
I can't find my motivation
Can't find the will to try
Just want one day of freedom
Just one chance to truly fly
Once I feel the sunshine
On my cold and lonely heart
I'll finally hear the laughter
Once my joy has had its start
Some day I'll know what it means
To never be alone
I'll have a warmth within me
Not a frozen soul of stone
For now I walk in silence
Feel this pain weigh down on me
I plaster on a smile
And want someone to see
Some people say they get it
And offer out their hand
No matter what they do now
They'll never understand
One day I'll feel the rain drops
So cool against my skin
I'll face my inner demons
And know I won't go where I've been
I'll taste my lover's sweet kiss
And finally know my worth
I'll spend the night with good friends
Locked in ever-lasting mirth
For now I'm trapped inside
Shadowed by this lonesome pain
Dreaming of the day I'm free
To feel the cool of summer rain
