Sorrow
Sometimes the deepest sorrow in the heart
Is something not to be avoided
The mask someone wears will somehow break down
And burst out in sweet tears of agony
And the tears keep going and going
Gasping for air
While the unmistakable pain in the heart
Keeps growing and growing
Blurred sight, wet cheeks
Tears dripping on the floor
A small pool starts to form
A pool of loss and sorrow
A hug, a comforting voice
That’s all there is needed
But there is none
Only memories and thoughts
No hunger, no smiles
No laughter, only cries
The regretful thoughts
Playing over and over like a movie
Hands trembling, knees shaking
Seeking for solitude
Alone in my remorse
Alone in my thoughts
Soon my mask will be put on again
But for now I’ll miss you
And tears will stay
Until I find my relief.
