God's Warm and Comforting Embrace
There once was darkness, there once was pain
There once was anger, a burning flame
The skies would weep and the children would cry
My heart would break as the people suffered and died
The war raged on filled with loss and sorrow
Hoping there would be a better tomorrow
I sat in the hospital, all covered in white
The pain surrounded me all through the night
Then an odd sensation stretched from ear to ear
For even though I was hurt I held no fear
There it was, a light, and warmth on my face
A man stood before me with a comforting embrace
No pain, no sadness, just a whole lot of love
And the man who stood before me wrapped me up in his warm hug
I asked him where I was, what was I doing in this place?
I needed to get back to keep running my same race
But he said, "You are already done, you have completed the race, it is finished
Look among you, at the stars, those that shine bright and those that have diminished"
I looked around and my gaze hit the ground
And what met me was a shocking sight
There I was, lying in bed, all covered in white
How could this be? I was there, but yet I was still here
I watched my family stand at my side, shedding all their tears
I whispered, Don't cry for me, I'm in a better place. God will hold us and guide us in his warm and comforting embrace"
