Divorce- A Villanelle
There comes that time in a young couples’ hearts
that has sadness and anger and sorrow.
Each day they both grow farther apart.
They scream; they yell and don’t act very smart
and don’t ever think about tomorrow.
There comes that time in a young couples’ hearts.
The children think wrongly that they caused the start.
Little ones spent like objects to borrow.
Each day they both grow more farther apart.
The courts and the judges have become part
of the yelling like the screech of a sparrow.
There comes that time in a young couples’ hearts.
And then one of the parents will depart.
And leave the child wailing and harrowing.
Each day they both grow more farther apart.
And there feelings inside they keep carted.
But deep inside their chest the love stays burrowed.
There comes that time in a young couples’ hearts,
each day they both grow more farther apart.
