Bumper to bumper with lives
You’ll never touch
Passing at 70 mph
The college bound Chevy, wayward
No blinkers, passing quickly
Cutting you off
And that second you slowed
Made all the difference
The single mother Sudan, stalwart
Four tiny hands in the back seat
Grasping for attention
And your merge to the left
When she swerved in distraction
Made all the difference
Home from the office
You drop your briefcase
In defeat
But your life today---made all the difference
