It’s been eight months now
Since I sent my letter to my lover
Wondering what possibly happened
To that wonderful letter I wrote to him.

What if he didn’t like the letter?
What if he loved it and was flying across the world
To see me?
What if I never hear from the love of my life again?
These questions would pop up in my head,
For these now months, weeks, and days I’ve been waiting
To hear from my lover again.

14.4 Million letters are lost in the mail every year.

My dearest love,
Words cannot describe my feelings for you.
When I see you I get butterflies in my stomach, and I love it.
Why did you have to move to a different state?
Why did you leave me here all alone without you?
Why did you make me have such great feelings about you-
Then leave?
I still will always love you and you will always love me,
Which is the only thing that matters to me right now.
I hope you write back soon;
It’s not the same without you and I wish you could write back.
Until the next time I write to you, I love you.

Love, Sandra

Everyday when the mailman came with my stack of mail,
I would look vigorously for a letter back from my lover-
And would not see one.
Maybe I should give up I said-
Maybe I should write another letter-
Maybe I should stop thinking about it and move on in life-
But then there was always something in my head that told me
Wait- he will write back soon,
Or so I thought.
