Earths's Cry
Irony – a fish choking on water,
a bird powerless to fly
or a whale committing suicide.
Life’s cycle goes awry.
We defile the dirt,
We slay the bees.
Poisoning out of spite,
Now with less and less trees.
Greed aches for coal
And thirsts for oil.
We mutilate the hillsides
And allow our oceans to spoil.
Seeping acid rain
Our brown skies are bleak,
Smoke converts to smog,
The air stains and reeks.
Why do we do this?
Why can’t we let be?
If only I could tell you,
‘cause then we’d all be free.
