Carpe Diem
On the quicksands of time
I stumbled into the presence
Of a joy so quelling, so fervent,
That I stood lips parted
Murmuring a prayer I did not know the words to
Watch the edges of the sky fall
Watch nothing stay permanent
We are so flawed that we fit together
So here’s what I will offer you
A poem.
A sermon.
Live today, stay active, don’t stagnate
Each second kills a little more of you
With your jaw of steel and your charm
Live angrily, vengefully, wittily, dangerously
We are fixated by the movement of the stars in the night
It’s only natural to wonder when they will stop
So quickly!
Before death alights on winded feet
Live your youth
Forever
