1926-1962
If I could go back in time,
To any place I wanted to,
I would want to go to Marilyn Monroe,
To 1926- 1962,
Where flappers were the only show,
Where I could see Norma Jean,
Where imperfection is beauty
Madness is genius, to experience the becoming of the most beautiful woman in life,
With No one to tell her she was
Pretty as a little girl,
To be able to smile,
To keep your head high,
Letting the pain of abandonment seep away,
Waiting for a show,
To know I’m the one known as the prettiest woman,
To not give up on life,
Just to keep going,
I would want to see Marilyn Monroe
With the fickle fame that hasn’t ever left,
Now just a casket she lays, and a stone for show,
Going further in time,
Where Michael Jackson came along
One more voice one, more song
One more life to go along,
Where they were happy it wasn’t just another day,
Trying to get by,
Its life,
It’s theirs,
In question of an over dose on pills
Or a murder for a thrill,
Laying in the casket,
Face so plush,
Wondering what went through the
Mind of the most talented,
Back in time,
The last life,
The shows still going on,
But with their names,
Carrying them on,
To never give up,
To see a new face in the mirror,
“To fall in originality than to succeed
In imitation”,
“To let you fall apart so better can fall
Together”
But to still be human,
“Everyone is a star and deserves
A chance
To shine”
