Winter's Snow
As snow falls down from the dark gray sky,
down through the cold dry air.
I stood and watched as happy snow flakes flew by,
passed the patient trees standing bare.
The earth I stood on slept under a thick blanket of snow,
waiting for spring for then its plants will grow.
When I started to get real cold, I made a big mistake.
Something I should have known,
do not try to run back home,
you may fall face first in winter's snow,
like I did a few years ago.
