My dear sweet hedgehog's name was Spike,
I shall name some things he used to like,
He liked to go adventure outside,
And even go down his little red slide,

Spike had lots of fun,
Every night when he'd run,
And keep us awake till the next morning's sun

Then one night,
We had quite a fright,
When Spike started limping bad,
We didn't know what to do and we were all very sad,

We took him to the vet,
Who carefully checked,
And then gave us the news,
That sweet little Spike we would soon lose,

My sweet little Spike was strong,
And held on for so long,
But his battle ended too soon,
On the sad third day of June.

This poem is about my first hedgehog Spike. He lived for about a year and a half when he was diagnosed with Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS) which is like MS in people. I loved him so much and miss him.
