Russet Rivulets
Slowly,
silently,
heat and ice.
An edge of metal will suffice.
From pristine peaks,
all
the way
down,
My sorrows will swiftly
drown.
In one hand I hold the key,
In another a silent plea.
One
swift
motion
unlocks the door.
Crimson iron stains every pore.
Floodgates broken-
-and hollowed out,
I scream in vain
an abysmal shout.
As time everlasting,
I fade away;
An echo in the night. My arteries f r a y
Like scarlet thread to be sewn,
Must be cut
to
lengths
unknown.
Enkindled veins, frost bitten heart;
With this brush
I paint my final piece of art.
