To My Most Beloved
You tell me well thought out lies, cover-ups.
Just stop. I’d rather you not talk at all.
When you do let up it’s some massive blunder,
And now I know too much so you avoid me.
Oh how I do wish every day and night
That you would confide in me as much as I confide in you.
You decline to let me in, still fighting.
Please try to realize that life isn’t always grim.
My mind assures me that you are grateful,
But questions why you can’t ever be content.
You’re up then down like a scheming spider,
Yet like sand amidst my feet, you remain welcome.
I read the words, but misunderstand the book.
Please let me know what I need to do to win
Your trust and receive an honest answer.
Instead, you look in my eyes to mislead me.
I see when you’re around them, so oppressed.
Miserable, an ensnared man longing for escape.
I wish you could turn to me;
The one you call your best friend and sister.
It’s ignorant to think no one has guessed.
Not everything has to be explained with words;
Sad eyes, fake smile and big bruises suffice.
Bottled up are years of pain, now turned to doubts.
I just want to help because you ask me,
Not to pry open your big chest of secrets.
I don’t mind if I am fated to find fault,
As long as I grant you release from yourself.
Two people don’t make you any less wonderful;
You deserve harmony like anyone else.
Let the past go, forfeit your resistance.
Be certain that love for you is not false.
Let those beautiful sapphires sparkle.
Share your soul and face life with a lighter eye.
I’m always going to be your pillar; your half full cup.
I won’t give up and I’ll love you all the while.
