Mirror
She stares back at me.
She wonders if that's really her.
someone she will always know. someone
she grew up with.
Her reflection, it opens her eyes
that that may be true beauty.
She wouldn't know because what she sees is just glass.
This glass shows her her face as if it breaks her whole world falls apart..
Everyday she goes back to that mirror and she looks different she doesn't recognize who she is same: eyes, heart, love but a different older version of herself.
She wonders if that she is all grown up she won't see herself as that thirteen year old girl who was only in grade school yesterday.
she stares back at me she wonders if that's really her in the end she she closes her eyes takes a breath and remembers
YES
I am still the same girl I was yesterday
