The Run

As I run in the wood
The clean air is good
Comfortable, I could
Feel best understood
By trees that surround me

The breeze flows by
And I run, spry
Like the wind, wry
About the fact I
Feel that I fly
As birds go high
Soaring far above me

In earnest, I run
The feeling of fun
Has really begun
I’ll be stopped by none-
Then I’m tired and done
Contentment flows through me

I often go on runs through my neighborhood by myself, and it is hard to beat the sense of accomplishment you get after a long one.
