Photographs peel themselves
Notes clipped to mirrors droop and fall
Letters of a life loved,
Stuffed between the dusty bookshelf
Desperate memories arrive, unwelcomed,
Like long-forgotten relatives
They come with ripped bags,
Fraying plastic filled with their respects,
Weighing their heavy bodies down
Like a heart in love once drags down
my soul
My glassy eyes watch the bitter scenes
And bitter scene never becomes bittersweet
You glance at me, those eyes
Through the reflection of my memories
And just as I remember
The feast of life now cold in your mouth
You bid a hasty retreat

Wow what a fabulous poem! The figurative language just blows me away. Has this poet written anything else?
