Paramour
He whispered to her heart debauchery,
claiming her lips resembled cherry,
promising never to let her cry.
The lovers became incendiary,
with a love to spill on pages of a diary.
Together their minds and hearts became airy.
In his waking state he did not vitalize,
the plea she had tried to italicize,
her image caught forever in his eyes.
How could he carry the burden
of setting her body to burn,
scraping her ashes into an urn.
He could not help but horrify
His child who wanted to refine
Her father’s cries of “If I…”
In was not for their paramour,
that the knight in shining armor,
fell upon his lovers grave to mourn.
