Are caused by an event.
They are the effect of
a rock being thrown in the lake.
That rock didn’t know, how many or
how big of ripples it would make.
It just made them.
An event that affects not just the rock or the lake.
But also the things floating in the lake.
The lily pads at the other end
were still moved, still altered
by that rock that was thrown in the lake.
Granted, the rock was thrown
and the lily pads were not affected
until some time had passed since the rock reached
the bottom of the lake.
However, to deny that
these lily pads were not moved,
by the rock’s action, is to say that,
actions do not have consequences.
An event does not cause other events
to take place because of that event.
It doesn’t matter how long ago an event occurred.
Its ripples can be felt through time itself
and can alter the life of any other
lily pad in the lake
