First Sight
Books fly to the floor
Papers fly through the air
The girl gathers her things
She feels a hand touch hers
“I’m sorry” says the boy, “Let me help you”
She is too shy to speak,
Just nods her head and smiles
Their eyes meet.
They did not know at the time but they were looking into their future
They were looking at their first date, first kiss, wedding day
They were looking at a white picket fence swinging open to reveal their beautiful first home
They were looking at the birth of their first child and the birth of their last
They were looking at their futures, their everything.
“What is your name?” he says
