Inauguration Parade
Inauguration Parade
Straight down Pennsylvania Avenue,
surrounded by secret service in dark trench coats.
Thousands of Americans swarm the nation’s capital to see one man;
President Barack Obama
He and his wife step out of the coach.
They start their short walk outside of the vehicle in the frigid weather,
waving and giving a welcoming hello to all of his supporters,
as they all applaud his reelection.
The festivities follow his and Joe Biden.
Music beats loudly through Washington and the celebration begins.
Impressive bands flood the streets with the honor of performing before the president,
flags of red white and blue are flying through the wind among the trees.
Horses hooves cluck along the pavement as they move along.
All is calm for the next four years;
until once again, celebration will occur in the heart of the nation,
as we welcome a new president to lead our country.
