Darkest Gloomy Night
My hardest night has come again.
The day I fear that one in ten.
Although I try, and try, and gaze,
All I see through this haze,
Is dark and bitter clouds of black,
Until you came and fought them back.
Then that night, that gloomy night,
Was not so filled with my fright.
Once again and yet once more
You came to me and made me soar.
Never again shall I dread
Because you came, told me, and said,
"I love you dear, oh yes I do,
I live and breathe and care for you.
Although you think your worth is small,
Believe and know that it is tall.
And when you fear that gloomy night,
Do not be overcome with fright.
But think of me and all I say,
And you will never feel this way."
My gloomy nights came to an end,
All because my special friend,
Had time enough to care for me,
A lowly child with a plea.
