Seasons Come and Gone
Falling, colorful leaves,
I can’t help but see,
The beauty billowing in the breeze.
No more buzzing of bumble bees,
Or of children swinging from trees.
I know the resilient beauty will not last,
Before the trees become quite vast.
For now I will just sit back and see,
The beauty raining down in front of me.
Fresh winter winds swirl the leaves away.
I take in the beauty, knowing it won’t stay.
As serene as a fresh snowfall,
Before the sun comes out and melts it all.
Wilting, crumpled leaves,
I can’t help but see,
The crinkled leaves billowing in the breeze
They say the most beautiful things in life are free,
And they sure do never cease to amaze me.
