University MAG
Under clear skies, I could see the trails of the
New roads waiting to emerge from the
 weed-laden land as
I watched you from a distance, not yet worth
 your attention.
Various times, I dreamt of the possibility of
getting to know you and silently
Envied those who already had the privilege.
Reminding myself to be grateful for my life as
it was, I pictured a future with you instead:
Students “standing on the shoulders of giants”
 as Newton put it.
I wonder how you found me – a misshapen rock on the beach – and labeled me prospective
The day I dared to dream of a future with
You was the best of my life.
