No Longer Shall I Weep
It's been too long since I've seen you last
My angel, my sweet
When again can we meet?
I see you in the sky
As I look across the frozen lake
I weep and tears linger behind in my wake
The prints of my bare feet already covered by fallen snow
Erasing the pain of my past
Clouded skies mimic my clouded eyes
Sorrow, grief, misery
In this hollow heart I find
Nothing on earth can sooth my mind
Breathing in the arctic air of this pure lake
Surrounded by nothing but balsam and cedars
I think of how we used to be
Wild, reckless and free
And suddenly it all stops
Every. Thing… Stops
The silence is broken
The ice crumbles under me
And down I fall
Plummeting farther and farther into the depths of the water
Down I sink and down I stay
Letting the water take my breath away
Frigid water pierces my skin
I let myself go
Freeing myself from everyday burdens
I do not fear what will happen
I embrace my fate
And alone, I wait.
I wait at the bottom for I know you will come,
Without you my world had come undone,
No longer do I sink, but now we soar
Higher than those careless clouds
And over oceans deep and blue
I surrender my life to be with you
My angel, my sweet, together we lay down to sleep
My angel, my sweet, no longer shall I weep.
