A Game We Play
Speak the truth
You turn your head away
Feed you lies
And now you long to stay
You said once you could tell
Just by looking at me
When I bear against you false
But can you really see?
You see only a shadow
A game I play with you
To see if you surely know
The part of me that's true
Mind games tease each hour
Seductive for us both
No loyalties lie behind silver eyes
No binding solemn oath
Dig a bit deeper beneath the skin
Scraping a tender heart
Rubbing raw at its surface
As if torture an art
