Savior
Teenage love, everyone ignores it,
Parents and elders don't accept it.
They're hypocrites, having married at 14 after a day,
Please explain how it's different today.
People always say love is a beautiful thing,
Then a teen expresses it and they say we know nothing.
We don't know what love is, they claim,
And they do? They're divorced and unhappy and who's to blame?
Adults are no experts, certainly they must know,
Are they putting us down only to try and show
That teens are foolish and simply cannot be sure
What exactly love is when I've found my savior.
Having been together almost three years, longer than most,
I believe I'm more mature so let's make a toast.
Here's to the teenage lovers who have found their dream,
Don't let those haters break up that two-person team.
