Snow Morning
Pitter patter, pitter patter
tiny feet upon the stair.
Down the hallway running now,
flying locks of curly hair.
Hands and face press the window,
looking out at blankets of white.
Breath steams up the ice-cold glass,
mesmerized by the beautiful sight.
Snowflakes fall like bits of lace
small hands reach to open the door.
Winter cold comes rushing in,
snowflakes melt upon the floor.
Trees are hung with icy jewels,
tongue stuck out to catch the snow.
Face lit up with magical wonder,
frozen winds begin to blow.
Small feet run, hurry back upstairs,
cold hands dive into the bed.
The snowy world is all but gone,
just a memory in a child's head.
