Escape
Sometimes I wonder what would happen
If things were different, if I were different
If time could we be rewound, and if I were to change
Would I still be unhappy
If there were magic words to take away pain
I’d say them for myself and then give them away
Off to someone else so they could be happy
So they could pass it on
And I think of all the people
Who have it worse than I
Who think about bringing their end
Who could be saved with magic words
But there aren’t any magic words
Or ways to rewind time
No way to save the world
No way to save myself
There isn’t an easy way out
There isn’t a yellow brick road
Every day is a fight a plea for freedom
To escape yourself and lighten the load
