We built the goddam Boulder Dam,
Best damn dam e'er built by man!
The Colarodo -- oh, it roared.
The canyon's walls -- oh, they soared.
But we built the goddam Boulder Dam,
Best damn dam e'er built by man!
We conquered the river, made it ours.
We lost some men, we lost some hours.
But we built the goddam Boulder dam,
Best damn dam e'er built by man!
We scaled the canyon, carved it out,
Made in our image a mighty mouth --
And it shouts to the world:
America, this is us!
In Us we trust, in Us we trust.
We built that God-damned Boulder Dam,
And we'll build more God-damned Boulder Dams.
