To The Only One
Many things are written
On the subject of
Friendship
From poems,
To dictionary enrties,
To the glass plaque
(Rose entrapped)
On your bedside table.
From me,
To you
None are right!
Nothing shows the true
Nature of friendship.
Nobody
And
Nothing
Can
Yet we may try.
So...
To the only one who
Would possibly complain
My name doesn't end in
'Ly'
Then dub me
'Caitlly'
To the only one who
Knows
Who,
And What,
(And how redundent)
Aunt Fester
Is.
To the only one who
Helped me perfedt
Apple-
Pinata-
Baseball
(We were seven, okay?)
To the only one who
Laughed endlessly
With me
Because of the
Harry Potter themed
Irony.
To the only one who
Forgave me for going to Duluth,
And loved the
I'm-sorry-I-went-to-Duluth-for-your-birthday!
Teddy Bear.
To the only one who
Mellow could possibly
Be afraid of.
To the only one who
Is
SO
INCREDIBLY
SLOW
That I can go to my locker,
Then to the library
And
STILL
get to lunch before
You.
To the only one who
Made me laugh,
And smile,
When I couldn't
To the only one who
Is
Always there
And I will always trust.
Forever and eternity.
