Christmas is a joyous occasion in the year.
There’s candy canes, holly, and jingle bell cheer!
Stockings are hung, the tree is up, and garland is set.
The joy will not stop!

Children get excited for ol’ Saint Nick
And Jesus is coming so get ready quick!
Everyone is happy; the lights are shining through,
Poinsettias are new, and fall holidays no longer ensue!

Families get together and have a feast, while the Grinch himself, carves the roast beast.
Nativities are up, church bells ring and the little children begin to sing.
Dickens’ story is told once again.
And Scrooge’s ghostly visits soon begin.

People get their houses ready for visitors.
While Christmas cantatas get ready for speakers.
Christmas specials are seen more and more.
People want to know what more is in the store.

Ugly Christmas sweaters are contested.
Distastes for fruitcakes are frankly stated.
But what is the true meaning of Christmas you ask?
Not feeling, not money, or even task.

No, the true meaning of Christmas is something more.
It is nativities, angels, and what is in store.
It’s Jesus Christ the Son of God.
And this new baby is not flawed, He is awed.
