The Elements of The Earth
Beautiful bark sticks
Standing tall and proud.
Moist sand and graveled rocks
Below my feet with the sound of
a crunching.
Shadows withering in the light
Acorns dropping with the sound
Of a light kla-plink.
The withered grays of the cattail
Left deserted and broken.
A eaten fish vertebrae
Just left to rot away,
It’s spirits could be heard aloud
In the winds,
Just a sad long lonely sorrow.
