Broken Cup

Broken relationship is an abandoned cup of coffee,
alone in a crook of a messy desk.
Once a craving, a desire,
then a process brewed with anticipation,
creamed and sugared with love.
A new relationship,
hopeful with expectations.
Time passes, sips are taken,
slowly cooling,
bitter and consumed.
It now sits in need of revival,
envious of the next best cup.
