Compassion burns in the eyes of the broken,
Words always seem to affect us when spoken.
Saying those three words makes you're mind go blank,
But now it's over, you floated ; I sank.
Don't say those words unless you mean them,
Someone might do something crazy like believe them.
Loving in the moment makes future envious,
But living in the past will bring a quick end to this.
My worst mistake was caring too much,
It started when you asked me to lunch.
Soon enough, our love caught fire,
But soon got destroyed by the waves of a liar.
The water put out our flames,
Now to you I'm just a name.
Our flames are dying to be rekindled,
But our communication slowly dwindled.
So now I'm here right where you left me,
And everyone seems to be happy 'cept me.

I've had a lot happen throughout my life and saying goodbye to my boyfriend really inspired me to write this. It was so heavy on my heart and poetry helps me release it.
