Darkness

The darkness that envelops him
That will put him soon to rest.
He needed that real challenge,
The one that put him to the test.

As the lights flicker on the street,
The people run and scurry away.
The police pull in the alley
But not a person left, no one did stay.

The feeling so hard to find,
Many search for entire lives.
Then why does it beckon him
Doesn’t matter, it never forgives.

A quick escape was all he wanted,
All he ever really wanted.
To forget about the life he had,
And to sit alone, not even needed.

His parents get the news,
The mothers tears were falling.
The father wondered what he could do,
But its what he wanted, seemed to be his calling..

His last cries were heard by none,
But the rats as he was about to go.
The last breath of his was slow,
However his parents were the first to know.
