Precarious Luck
Windows, doors, hearts,
You can only see through them if they're clean.
Hopes, dreams, fears,
They all don't see what you’re feeling.
It’s all a game,
A nightmare in a pillow,
The flying and falling when you believe,
The sign of love or hate,
The moments you keep close,
Wondering if he'll ever believe in the sounds of grace.
Knowing the li’l white church means nothing,
The childhood smells of cotton and chocolate,
Smells of campfires and movie nights,
Smells, non-forgettable.
You remember them, but they don't remember you,
Dreams you had, Dreams you lost,
Moments have gone by like fire flies brushed by wind,
The wind that hits your window every night,
Looking out,
Wondering if he’ll ever come back,
Knowing the wars never end,
You fight your battle and they still win,
Don't stop to smell the flowers,
Or look at the clouds,
Just keep walking on the yellow brick road,
Don't, ‘till they put your name in stone,
But we’ll keep thinking you’re better than me,
‘Cause you, don't know, what I see.
