Roller Coaster
I remember arriving on that day
Music and laughter guiding my way
I moved around small children and large crowds
Soaking up every detail, the smells and the sounds
I stopped and looked very high
At a roller coaster that towered into the sky
Did I want to ride it? I didn’t know
But my sister begged me all day to go
She took my hand and led me to the line
Where I politely refused, but she started to wine
I quietly sat down on the ride
Then the roller coaster started to glide
People screamed and laughed as the coaster flew
I pretended to not have fun, but my sister still knew
I glanced over to see if she was fine
But she didn’t look like she was having a good time
Hands gripped the safety bar with all their might
Her face was worried and full of fright
When we got of the roller coaster, she started to plea
Please, no more roller coasters for me
In the direction of the food court is where she head
I still couldn’t believe I liked the roller coaster instead
