Song of the Sierras

Sing the song of the Sierras.

Whoosh! Crunch! Chirp!
I feel the freezing wind,
Nipping at my nose.
Its cool laughter
Racing towards the base below.
Sing the song of the Sierras.

Whoosh! Crunch! Chirp!
My boot steps down,
Pushing on the snow.
Its robber sole
Breaking through the crisp crust.
Sing the song of the Sierras.

Whoosh! Crunch! Chirp!
The bird grows still,
Waiting as I draw near.
Its whistled calls
Cutting through the sudden silence.
Sing the song of the Sierras.

Whoosh!
The wing races swiftly.
Crunch!
The ice snaps cleanly.
Chirp!
The bird calls merrily.

Sing the song of the Sierras.
