Favorite Quote:
"Do not hide behind the image of who you wish to be, or you will lose sight of who you once were."

So difficult to choose
With our passions in the way
I love you so much
Sometimes all I want is for you to stay

But choices are approaching
And decisions must be made
We both have other passions
Choosing between them is what makes me afraid

What do I love more?
I have my art
And you have your sports
So where does my life start?

With you or in a far off college
Thousands of miles separating us
Are all my dreams in your sweet kiss
Or in the strokes of my paintbrush

Where does my heart belong?
Is it buried in your hands?
Or in my awaiting canvas
My heart is too difficult to understand

Is the right choice passion, or is it love?
Without you my heart cries
Is there even a right choice?
With you my passion dies

So difficult to choose
With our passions in the way
I love you so much
Sometimes all I want is for you to stay

It’s not so easy to choose.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem about people who have to choose between their passions and the person they love. Loving someone so deeply then having to let go for college and their dreams is so difficult a thing to do, but letting go of the future you always imagined and letting go of your passions for love is incredibly difficult as well. I wrote this poem to basically sum up a sucky situation for high school seniors.
