I am trapped inside your love;
I am a prisoner of your heart.
You are always on my mind.
You are the inspiration to my art;
the reason I draw and paint,
the only reason I smile.
When I talk to you I feel faint.
If I even hear your name, my
heart flies to the moon and back.
The day you left my whole world died and my fragile heart cracked.
I fell so deep I drowned
in a sea of lies
that I told to hide my thoughts
and cover up my yearning cries.
If I had just one chance,
I know I could be the best.
Please take my heart once more
and put my sincerity to the test.

The author's comments:
I broke up with someone for someone else and it was the worst mistake ever. I regretted it sincerely and never got the chance to tell that person how I felt.

Btw, i don't know if i answered your question in another of your work's comments but yes i do like Edgar Allen Poe. And you should know who i am by now and you have flourished quite considerably since i left and that is so awesome! i'm glad for you! anyways, talk to you later! :D

thanks. In the poem, I just sort of come to a state of realizing, "hey, I screwed up. I need you back", and i put it into stanzas. That is basically how I write ALL my poems. Based off real situations.

I'm always a little bit jealous of those who can succeed in writing poetry (I'm much more of a short story person--poetry is too hard for me), and you, my friend, have added to that. (In a wonderful way of course!) This is great.
