13 ways of looking at cancer
It has been heard as “The Killer”,
 “The Murderer”,
 “The Devil”,
 “The Big C”
 And so forth.
But I have never heard of it as anything else.

  2
 The pain,
 The shock,
 The thought of Death’s angel.

    3
 A lump,
 A bruise,
 Whatever you call it.
 It’s all just the same.

  4
 Run!
 Run like the wind,
 Don’t stop
Your cause sure as hell doesn’t.

    5
 The colorful ribbons
You can find them just about anywhere,
 In any family,
 No matter where you look…

  6
 Sitting there
 In the gloom
 Nowhere else to turn
Awaiting for your opportunity to have it go away

    7
You either wear black, white, bright or dark colors
You await the time to say your final good-byes.
 No turning back now,
 No chance to delay,
 It’s either now or never.
 Else you’ll never forgive yourself.

   8
You may never see him again,
You may never hear his laugh,
His smile might be his final good-bye,
 The stories you’ve heard
 But never seen,
 Could be his final memories.

     9
They say you get used to it,
 You never do.
They say there’s no reason to cry,
 But there always is.
They say death is just another factor of life,
 That’s true.
And it may not be fair,
But at least they have something right.

    10
 It can be found anywhere,
 Any moment,
 Within the next week,
 The next month,

 Your final second.
But you’ll never know until you face your worst fears.

    11
 You know its happening,
 Maybe you don’t,
 But you hang on.
 You fight.
Until you have nothing left to fight for.
 Everyone is proud.
 They know you tried,
At least they saw you once,
 And will see you again.

    12
All your hopes turn to dreams and wishes
Dreams and wishes turn to fantasies
 Fantasies turn to forgotten dreams
All because your chance to live a life
Has been taken before your very eyes

   13
 No matter what,
Some say it happened for a reason and that you should miss them,
  But not shed a tear.
Others say it was a factor of life
That it should be executed in hopes you will find peace.
A number of people have had someone taken away from them so many times they can’t help but cry.
It’ll happen to us sooner or later,
There’s nothing we can do but fight.
 Don’t stop fighting.
 Fight to the very end.
