I Try
On the inside I’m not alive
I try to keep my cool;
But I know it doesn’t always work
It’s always just too cruel
We always yell and fight
I keep saying the wrong thing;
I try and plaster a smile,
But you can see right through me
I feel like you enjoy this;
Me dying in front of you.
I didn’t know it was funny
Me not knowing what to do.
I try to walk away
Knowing it will never work.
You have a way of making me think
That this is what I deserve.
I just want you to know
That I’m just trying my best.
I know it might not look like it,
But I can’t always past your test.
I know it’s going to be hard,
It’s not going to be easy like they say.
But just know I was there for you
And you just pushed me away.
