we lost all of our inspiration to the world
with it’s fake, photo-shopped messes.
and silly little mistakes turned scandals
love was nowhere to be found,
not in hearts, not in minds, not even in wishes
nor in the dreams we succumb to each night.
so, all of the artists hid behind their canvases
and all of the poets, behind undecipherable words
and all the musicians behind sweet lullabies and notes
still awaiting the true reason why we do the unthinkable:
love
