"The best thing to do when there is no way out is to find a way further in"

These cords are the chains binding me to this sepulcher

These cords are the veins that fill my heart with blood

These cords are the reins that hold back the flood

These cords are the strings that I can't keep pulling

These cords are the things that I can't keep pursuing

These cords in your hands are the ones I speak of true, the cords I left to you moments before on my flight I flew

These cords that you now possess were not mine to leave, the cords that I wore proudly on my sleeve

I left your world in hopes of finding what I believed I could reach, to only find that through the journey that I would falter at your beach

These cords are all I left for you to fray over time in your hands, to hold and cherish as I departed your lands

Now this distance between us is destroying me to a bitter end, but I will never regret that I made you my friend

The pain is great and the sword I carry is blunted

The streets are empty but I feel like I'm being hunted

Now that I am far away I know realize how much you mean to me, I never knew that distance could now become my enemy

Though I am not gone from you yet, you will hear much from me I bet

And when you realize that you feel the same way I do, all you will have to say is "I love you"
