Farewell
When I look at you, I see nothing but my faults, my arrogance, my weakness... my soul.
When I hear you my legs weaken, my heart drops and my fingers turn to ice.
When I touch you, you disappear; I weep and weep and weep, until I’m forced to wake from my pitiful dream.
As I lay there alone in my bed, only my tears remain; the only sign that shows how much I truly miss you.
I easily wipe the evidence away.
Only I can tell that my heart will never be whole again.
Only I can know that I will never love again.
Only I can say farewell to you every night…over and over again.
