Avoiding eye contact,
Biting my lip,
Checking the time,
Drugs were my life.
Everyone around me,
Facing my demons,
Giving it a shot,
Harming myself no more.
In this world,
Judged by all,
Kicked while down,
Looking towards the sky.
More to life,
Now I realize,
Over my addiction,
Post-marked my pain.
Quitting for good,
Reaching new heights,
Setting new goals,
Taking back my life.
Under new circumstances,
Vouching for integrity,
Willing back freedom,
X-ing out the days.
Yearning for release,
Zealously moving past it.
