A Sweet Summer
As the sweetness drips from my hands
Like syrup crawls over pancakes,
I savor the deliciousness
Wishing the taste wold never leave.
Like syrup crawls over pancakes
The juice slides down my throat.
Wishing the taste would never leave,
I close my eyes, trying to trap it.
The juice slides down my throat.
Sugariness lingering in my mouth,
I close my eyes, trying to trap it.
Unable to resist, I reach for another piece.
Sugariness lingers in my mouth,
But the coolness slowly fades away.
Unable to resist, I reach for another piece.
Crunchy and crisp-- the refreshing red slice is all gone.
The coolness slowly fades away.
The huggable warmth continues to radiate.
Crunchy and crisp-- the refreshing red slice is all gone.
But I still lie on the cool grass and listen to the chorus of birds and bees.
The huggable warmth continues to radiate.
I savor the deliciousness--of the weather and the watermelon.
As I lie on the cool grass, listening to the chorus of birds and bees,
The sweetness drips from my hands.
