Fire and Ice
Fire and Ice

 The fire's light glows,
like a sun about to set.
 The ice cringes against me,
 like a frigid wind.

 The fire parishes,
 like ashes at sunset.
 The ice combines,
like a stone of sharp crystals.

Fire is free, like a snake in a meadow,
Ice is shackled, as an imprisoned soul,
 Flames in the sunrise,
 Chills in the night.

 Flames burst like ember,
 lose and free,
 moving along
 peacefully.

 Icy crystals like spikes
 hard and trapped
 forever frozen
 never to be found.

My heart burns with the passion of fire,
but my soul will shiver forever.
