seasons
Winter days came and went
on the earth that was my heart

but then the earth turned to a seed
 and bloomed into the dark

that flower stood tall and alone
 until someone chopped her down

and pressed her in their pocketbook
where never she would be found

one by one her petals fell
 out into the street

where her delicate face was only met
 by a million crunching feet

but one day the good strong wind
 found her many parts

and took her to a desert land
where she had never left her mark

 the constant summer head
 was different from her home

 in the heat, others grew
while at home she was alone

still she said, she had to miss
 the winters of her youth

but winter comes, even in the desert
for those who care to look
